In one sense, he could be referring to the fact that you just can't stop living because you know that you are going to die. The line "I could not stop that you now know" is kinda tricky in my opinion. The begining of the second stanza refers to the fact it's only a matter of time before the walls "close in" on us(death) and take us back home(heaven, reincarnation, whatever you believe in). However, this realization of his own mortality forces him to try and do great things(the tiger's waiting to be tamed). I believe in the opening stanza the writer of the song realizes that he is mortal and that the one truth in his life is that he will die(tides that i tried to swim against). Clcoks is an incredible title because if you think about it, time is very difficult to measure without clocks(and sometimes still difficult to measure). The central theme of this song is time, no doubt. Not to be totally unoriginal, but the lyrics to this song are incredible. He concludes with saying how he misses her, how nothing else can compare to her, and how much he wants to be back with her.īut this of course is just my interpretation lol and i know there are loads of others. He regrets what he did which must have caused the breakupĪnd wishes she would come and take away these waves of misery and regret that are affecting him so badly.Īm i a part of the cure or the disease could be him wondering if he would do any good for her, or if he were to enter her life again would he just make the situation worse. The next part shows more about his discomfort without her, the ticking clocks could just represent how aware he is of the time he is without her. either he just doesnt need words to describe what she means to him, or he in unable to find ones that could ever do her justice. The 'you are' part of the song is quite profound, and quite a philosophical statement (descartes? ) about the existance of man. The trouble that cant be named, are his inexpressible emotions and the tigers that need to be tamed could possibly symbolise the ferocity of his love for which he needs to deal with. 'Tides that I tried to swim against, have put me down upon my knees' The first few lines describe that horrible, unavoidable ( 'i cant be saved' ) time at night, when all the defences you put up during the day, about not thinking about that person, come down. That will mark Coldplay’s seventh time performing on SNL, among the most appearances of any musical guest in SNL history. Also on Thursday, Saturday Night Live announced that Coldplay will serve as the musical guest on February 4 episode hosted by Pedro Pascal. It’s just one stop on Coldplay’s trip down memory lane in the coming weeks. You guessed it: Martin launched into another performance of “Clocks,” 20 years later. After Kimmel wound it, it started playing “Clocks,” the song that Coldplay performed on January 26, 2003. Martin added that “we’re both really lucky” and thanked Kimmel before apologizing for not having a song to perform because Kimmel called Coldplay “kind of last minute.” He pretended he was there alone without the rest of the band and presented Kimmel with a music box. Kimmel remembered telling Martin during the premiere episode that he and his crew “wanted to have a band on the show that we’d be proud we had on the show in 20 years, and boy, it was the one thing that we got right.” And so, Chris Martin joined Kimmel to commemorate the 20-year anniversary. Coldplay was the long-running talk show’s first-ever musical guest. On January 26, 2003, Jimmy Kimmel Live premiered. Music Of The Spheresarrived in October 2021, but Coldplay reached deep in their bag and brought out a track from their 2002 album A Rush Of Blood To The Head for Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday night, January 26. I said something in my previous post but now I noticed that it wasn't true: my setup does not work with every text editor, but specifically with Sublime. If you make BTT press Enter twice in Terminal, a single setup can solve both situations (single line or multiple lines). If I want to run several lines of code at once, I select the text, press shift+Enter and BTT does the same thing again. My setup works like this: if a want to run a single line, I press shit+Enter while to cursor is on that line - regardless of where it is in the line - and BTT copies the line, changes to Terminal, press Enter to run it, goes back to Sublime and goes to the line below. I code in Sublime text and run things in Terminal with IPython running. py file at once, but that is certainly possible with a few tweaks. Oh boy, oh boy! I waited my whole life for this! Not everyone wants to hear my gospel.įirst of all, I have to clarify that I work with data analysis, so I wanted to simulate the behavior of a Jupyter Notebook: I write a few lines of code, run it, see the result, write a bit more, run again that chunk. For example, if you have an Adobe Premiere Video project that you want to back up that is 10 GB, or even bigger, HiDrive can back up this large file without any problems. The only actual restriction on possible space is the technically determined limits, but these are really very seldom reached. There is no set limit for file sizes - depending on your storage plan, you may have more space. Storing large files is no problem with HiDrive. This means that you can use different programs, even on different operating systems and devices, and still store them all in the same place for secure, easy access whenever and wherever you need. With HiDrive, you will be able to save all kinds of files, including Word or Excel documents, PDFs, video or XML files, various types of image files, or Photoshop and PSD files, HiDrive can store all of them, as well as many other formats. In this case, the web browser provides the ideal solution. Web browsers: You can also access everything you've backed up on a web browser in case you don't have your mobile device or computer at hand – this is possible from any web browser, and is ideal in case you're working for or with an important client and your laptop or desktop computer fails.Easily sync your files from your desktop to the cloud. HiDrive software is also available for MacOS. Desktops: The desktop software for HiDrive cloud storage is compatible with Windows operating systems (Vista and newer). The iOS app is compatible with iPhone and iPad. For iOS, version 9.3 or newer is required, as these versions have updated security features. Apps: The HiDrive storage app is available for iOS, Android. Here's a quick overview of the availability of HiDrive cloud storage on different devices: Your stored data can be accessed by you on the online server whenever and wherever you need it, and across many different devices – from home, work or on the go. It is possible to use HiDrive as a storage app, desktop software or directly in your web browser. HiDrive cloud storage works on several different devices and operating systems. Even with other team members working on different devices around the world, ensure your team is on the same page with HiDrive data storage and rely less on emailing each other large documents. For an entire team collaborating important project, it’s easy for everyone to organize and access the same documents using one business account. The great thing about HiDrive is that your data is not only stored safely in the cloud, but other people can access it with your permission. Use cloud storage for music, photos, or any type of media that you want to keep safe. This could be videos of your child’s first steps, your family’s vacation photos, or even your extensive music collection. With HiDrive you can back up all your work-related data and access it easily from any another device.įor private users, the online storage of photos with HiDrive allows you to save all the multimedia files that matter the most to you. For employees, you might have PowerPoint presentations and digital assets like photos and videos on a laptop for a project, which is why cloud storage for a business is so important. Losing any of this data due to theft or damage is never a nice thought. Your databases are always and only decrypted locally. There are often many precious documents and photos saved on your devices. NOTE: Whenever you deposit your databases on a cloud service, your confidential data always "touch" the data medium of the cloud service in AES 256-bit encrypted format - never unencrypted. Once Password Depot has created the directory/folder, you can upload your existing password databases through Windows Explorer or your browser. Instead, log in to HiDrive with Password Depot and allow the program to create the path, in case it does not yet exist. WARNING : It is strongly recommended not to create this path manually. If you save your databases on HiDrive, Password Depot uses the following default path: Then select the database and click on Open. In case the desired file is not shown in the list, simply search your HiDrive for this database.
For output, the PS5 supports 4K at 120Hz and 8K, both with a variable refresh rate as determined by HDMI 2.1. The PS5’s increased graphical fidelity is, presumably, to push games to resolutions never seen before. The PS5’s GPU will have more cores, and those cores will be faster and more efficient. In short, the graphical capabilities of the PS5 are massively more impressive than the PS4. As Cerny pointed out in his presentation, that means the 36 CUs of the PS5 equal the same performance as 58 PS4 CUs. Each of the PS5’s CUs has roughly 60 percent more transistors than a PS4 CU. PS5 graphics on raw numbers, but that doesn’t take into account the latter system’s more modern architecture. By allowing variable frequency, the PS5’s GPU can achieve much higher clock speeds than expected, so long as the higher frequency can be supported by the system’s power budget. The general idea is that higher clock speed is better, not more CUs, as the extra, slower units wouldn’t have enough computing work to pull their weight. In the PS5 technical reveal, system architect Mark Cerny explained why this was the case, stating that a graphics core with 36 CUs running at 1GHz would produce the same number of TFLOPs as a 48 CU core running at 750MHz - 4.6 TFLOPS - but gaming performance would not be equal. More demanding games require more power, but the speed is always 800MHz.įor the next generation, power is the constant and clock speed is the variable. Locked at 800MHz, the PS4 varies power based on the workload to meet the clock speed. Speed is capped at 2.23GHz, though it will lower based on what’s required of the GPU. While a higher clock speed is expected, we’re more interested in variable frequency. Over the PS4, the PS5’s cores run at 2.23GHz with variable frequency. Sony is able to achieve such high performance because of the PS5’s 36 CUs and higher clock speed. Referring to that single number, the PS5’s GPU is roughly eight times more powerful than the PS4 and two and a half times more powerful than the PS4 Pro. By contrast, the PS5’s GPU is rated for 10.3 TFLOPs. The PS4, with its 18 CUs running at 800MHz, clocks in at 1.84 TFLOPS, meaning it can handle 1.84 trillion floating-point operations per second. Although TFLOPS aren’t holistically indicative of performance, it’s a solid number to refer to when making comparisons. “Teraflops” is a hot term for console developers, and for good reason. However, the biggest difference between the two comes with the ever-important TFLOPs. Sony is boasting twice the number of CUs on the PS5 as well as significantly higher clock speed. The PS4 and PS5 are both based on custom AMD Radeon chips, though the latter packs a lot more of a punch. The PS5 has a strictly better optical drive and resolution support, for example. That said, other specs can be directly compared. The PS5 is a much newer console built on a different architecture, and because of that, some of the specs shouldn’t be directly compared.įor example, the PS5 and PS4 Pro have the same number of compute units (CU), but the PS5’s CUs have a much higher transistor density, making them more powerful than the PS4 Pro’s CUs. As a general note, though, it’s important to consider the context of these specs. We’ll get into the specifics of most of these specs throughout this comparison. We know there are two versions of the PS5 - the Standard Edition and Digital Edition - both of which will offer the same specs (with the exception of the omission of a disc drive with the Digital Edition). Sony has improved the capabilities of its platform in every way, adding more efficient storage, faster compute parts, support for larger capacity disks, and support for higher resolutions. PS4 Pro specsĮven a cursory glance at the specs of the PS5 shows that it’s in a different league than the PS4 (and even the PS4 Pro). Tired of waiting to get your hands on Sony’s next-gen console? We’ve put together a guide highlighting the best gaming deals available now.
And we need to provide the necessary pixels. Different paper sizes are different shape. Sufficient pixels is important, but first cropping the image so that the image SHAPE actually matches the selected paper SHAPE is also a very important concern. A home photo editor "fit" typically is the opposite by default, not cropping at all, but leaving thin white space in one dimension if it doesn't fit precisely.Įither way, it is good if your plan properly prepares the image for printing. When the print and paper shapes differ, a print shop "fit" typically fills all of the paper, fitting one dimension to leave no unfilled white space border in the other. The image "shape" (which is width / height, called Aspect Ratio) likely rarely matches the paper "shape", which always needs attention first. Images have both size and shape properties. But it will not necessarily fit the paper "shape", which requires cropping attention done by you. This scaling will print at a new dpi which will fit the paper size. This can be borderless if so specified in the printer Properties. However, most photo editors will also provide an option to "Scale to fit media" or "Best fit to page", which will scale the image to fit the specified paper size (similar to the labs above). Hopefully, you have already properly scaled the image for your selected paper size. The dpi number that your digital camera initially stores in the image file is far from meaningful, it is just some arbitrary number, which will print SOME size, but not likely to be your own printing goal. For example, if an image dimension is 3000 pixels, then specifying that file number as 300 dpi printing resolution will print it to be 3000/300 = 10 inches print size (even if the paper is 4圆). But it typically will also allow changing that dpi, called scaling (to fit the paper size). If printing yourself at home, the Print menu in your photo editor normally does use the file's scaled image dpi number (pixels per inch) to size the images on paper (regardless if it matches the paper size at all). But if the provided image shape does not match the paper shape, the excess image outside the paper edges simply disappears, results may not be what you expected. Or, if too small (insufficient pixels provided), the print quality will be lower, and the lab may refuse worst cases. That's not necessarily a problem, except a far too-large image will be slow to upload. If your image dimensions are too large, the photo shop will first resample it to this smaller requested size. Planning ahead to avoid surprises by first cropping the image to match that paper shape, and also to provide enough pixels so that the result will be 250 to 300 pixels per inch will be a very good plan. If you order 8x10 inches, you will get 8x10 print size. They will ignore your dpi number already in the image file, and will recompute their own necessary "pixels per inch" value, to scale your image to their paper size. The photo printing shops where we order prints will offer a paper size, and will fill that paper with your image. There are two situations when printing images, depending on if print shops or home printing. The dpi calculator is below, but first, some background concerns. Recent MacBook Pro and some other models that have mute boots neither emit sounds nor flash their displays if they encounter problems during their POST. if an EFI firmware update is in progress on a Mac model prior to 2012, one long tone when you hold the Power button. if the EFI firmware found is corrupt and is being recovered, three long, three short, and three long tones (-…-, the inverse of Morse SOS).if RAM is found but fails POST, three tones followed by a 5 second pause, repeating.if no RAM is found, a single tone repeated every 5 seconds. The following sounds are emitted when booting is abandoned or paused: A normal startup chime indicates that memory (RAM) and ROM appear sound and sufficient for the boot process to continue. Intel-based Mac models from before October 2016 signal the outcome of their POST phase using sound. So a POST run from the Boot ROM wouldn’t be able to test much of the chip, and wouldn’t have much hardware for which to indicate any problems it might find. Until then, all code has been run on a single core too, and the other cores aren’t run up until after the kernel is busy initialising the Mac. Most of the plethora of devices within the SoC don’t load their firmware and start running until after the kernel has started loading. At that stage, the alternative would be to try to start up in Recovery mode, possibly flashing the power light provided on some models. In the event of early boot failure, the only recourse seems to be to abandon the process, and leave the Mac in DFU mode. Prior to that are ‘breadcrumbs’ that are only intelligible to Apple’s engineers. If that isn’t possible, then the fallback is to go into DFU mode and await a connection over USB.Īs with Intel Macs, there’s no accessible record in the log of what has happened during the initial phase of the boot process, as log records only begin with the kernel. Booting an M-series Mac thus starts with the immutable Boot ROM in the hardware, whose most important task is to verify the executable for the next stage, then load and run it. In contrast, boot security in Apple silicon Macs aims to provide a verified chain of trust through each step in the boot process to the loading of macOS, that can’t be exploited by malicious components. Once a T2 Mac has performed its POST and initialised the SMC, the T2 sub-system establishes the level of Secure Boot in force, and, if that’s Full or Medium Security, boot.efi is checked before being loaded, and that leads through to the rest of the boot process. With two separate processors in each T2 Mac, there are two separate sets of firmware, one EFI and the other known as iBridge or BridgeOS. Maybe Apple silicon Macs do still run POST, but haven’t yet found a good way to report it? To discover whether that’s feasible, you need to compare what happens in their boot sequences. Those are normally retrieved from NVRAM, but as far as I can see, Apple silicon Macs don’t have anywhere in their NVRAM where they might store the result of a POST. While that does report the results of the last Diagnostics test run (if any), for Apple silicon Macs there’s no mention of any POST, as there is on Intel Macs, even those with a T2 chip. The first place to look is where Macs normally report the results of their last POST, in the Diagnostics item of System Information. One catch here is recalling that POST routines may not be run for a restart, as they normally need a ‘cold’ start from the Mac being shut down. So what happens when an Apple silicon Mac fails its POST? Does it even run them? Every model of Mac in the past has had its own POST routines, some that have become famous because of the sounds that result, or what’s displayed, from the sight of a Sad Mac to the sound of a car crash. Power-on self-tests (POST) are widely used in electronics, and one of the oldest features of personal computers. Young Souls is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One.
